On Saturday 24th April 2021, author Dr. Harry Oldmeadow gave a talk that launched his book, Timeless Truths and Modern Delusions: The Perennial Philosophy as a Guide for Contemporary Buddhists at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Victoria. The Stupa was packed, with many of Harry’s former university students, readers, and curious folk in attendance. Harry delivered an inspired speech about the perennial philosophy and called for a more honest appraisal of modernity. The afternoon included a lively Q&A session where attendees engaged with Harry on questions pertaining to traditionalism and its key thinkers. The launch concluded with a book signing, leaving the audience keen to dive into Timeless Truths. The successful event was the first official book launch for Platform and the first for many after a long stretch during the covid pandemic lockdowns.
