Dungse Lama Pema

Making Friends Out of Enemies

A Commentary on the Seven Points of Training the Mind

When destructive emotions control us, we fail to act in ways that benefit others. Instead, our enemies of pride, jealousy, anger, greed, and ignorance hurt ourselves, and moreover, the beings and the environment around us. This book introduces us to the classic Tibetan Buddhist “mind training”, or lojong instructions, which tell us how to regain our profoundly peaceful and compassionate minds.

Praise for the Book

From the Foreword:

My root guru the Very Venerable Vidyadhara Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche gave these teachings in many different countries at different times. In 2011 Rinpoche asked Dungse Lama Pema Tsewang to teach lojong to his students in the West. Rinpoche personally gave him the transmission and permission to teach. Since then, Dungse Lama Pema Tsewang has been so kind as to follow the advice of our root guru and he has taught lojong in many places, many times. I am very happy to see some of his students have transcribed his teachings and that they are now being published in a book entitled ‘Making Friends Out of Enemies.’ I would like to thank Dungse Lama Pema Tsewang for his kindness and compassion towards beings, and I would like to request all the readers to utilize these precious instructions in your day-to-day lives, for this will definitely bring many positive results and much happiness amongst one another.
