On Sunday, 19th November 2023, Ian Green OAM in conversation with publisher Matthew Dawson launched Monumental: The Story of the Stupa at the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Victoria. The event was attended by around 60 people at the site. Ian shared his thoughts on the current state of Buddhism in Australia, how he came to become a Buddhist, and his own personal journey to becoming creator of the Great Stupa and Jade Buddha for Universal Peace. The launch included some great Q&As, where attendees engaged with Ian on questions related to organising such a massive project and maintaining momentum towards their well-intentioned goals. The launch concluded with a book signing inside the Great Stupa Library, leaving the audience eager to dive into Monumental: The Story of the Stupa. The event marked another milestone for the Stupa as it continues to become a hub of spiritual activity in the West.
